Ξ December 14th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

Our new EP is finally available to buy from the excellent Road Records in Dublin.
Recorded from March - April 2008 in Sun Studios Temple Bar, its 4 tracks are less mellow than our previous efforts and are a pretty good representation of how we sound live.
We’ve already started recording our next EP and intend to have it out there far quicker than Earthrise, watch this space.
Godspeed.

CascadeSounds On Facebook

Ξ December 11th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

Word on the street is that all the kids these days have one of them fancy Facebook pages. Let it never be said that CascadeSounds don’t have their finger on the pulse of this here fancy interweb computer thingamebob - so if you’re bored, please drop by our shiny new facebook page which is located here.
To be fair to them, their music player is pretty bloody impressive - unlike the Myspace one, it doesn’t make everything sound like it was recorded in a toilet using a dictaphone - and they don’t seem to have a limit on the number of tracks a band can have either. Sweet.
Godspeed.

Godspeed.

Earthrise EP almost ready…

Ξ September 11th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ News |

After a particularly difficult and traumatizing few months mixing, our new EP is almost ready to be uploaded to the information supermeganet. It’s far more rocky, loud and upbeat than our previous release, which is a direct result of us discovering that mixing Prozac and amphetamines is in fact a massive aid to creativity. We’ll have some tracks uploaded for you listening pleasure in the next few weeks.
Godspeed.

An Update From Our Fun Filled World

Ξ July 10th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ News |

It’s been a mixed bag for CascadeSounds the past few months, on the downside we have the delay of both our second E.P. and our live debut, but on the upside we have the addition of young Robert from the Hickson clan completing our line up. Mr Hickson has been integrating himself into our well-oiled military groove machine, and with his rehabilitation almost complete, his release into normal society is imminent.

The new E.P.? Basically, long story short, eight days in a very expensive studio turned out to be nowhere near enough time for us to capture the sound that we wanted. And then we ran out of fucking money. And there were wolves outside the door. And then it started raining.

So…..we’re mixing the E.P. ourselves. As there are over 70 guitar tracks on some of the songs, this has proven to be a harrowing and haunting experience, and it has rendered Mick a broken, spent shell of man.

All this fun getting the E.P. together has put a serious strain on our rehearsal times, so our live debut has been consequently delayed. We’re hoping it’ll be worth the wait, and we’re hoping to synchronize our live debut with the EP release in September.

If anyone would like to download the Hope In Sound EP (it’s free you know) it can be found on the Last FM website here
